MAIN CHAPTERS
  • Benchtops, cabinet fronts, tapware, splashbacks, tiles, smart storage, and more! Designing a kitchen can be quite challenging due to the many elements to consider, and since it's often the focal point of the home, the stakes are high. We’ll provide you with essential dos and don’ts to help you avoid costly mistakes and boost your confidence in tackling this sometimes overwhelming but always enjoyable space.

  • Renovating bathrooms can be quite challenging since it involves coordinating a range of trades. We’ll cover everything from benchtops and vanities to mirrors, layered lighting, tiles, tapware, and more. Our goal is to ensure you leave with the confidence needed to transform your bathroom into a peaceful retreat.

  • In the styling chapter, we delve into various elements such as furniture, lighting (both task and decorative), accessories, colour schemes, and rug dos and don'ts, among other topics.

  • Our supplier list, affectionately known as our "Pot of Gold," is one of the most valuable and practical resources we can provide. It includes the relationships we've built over the years and our meticulously curated supplier library, all presented to you directly.

  • Folk Studio's renovation masterclass is back for its annual event! This comprehensive 2-hour session will guide you through renovating key areas of your home, such as the kitchen and bathroom, while sharing our styling tips, preferred suppliers, and budgeting advice. This year, we’re thrilled to partner with exciting brands offering generous discounts on tiles, lighting, bedding, and homewares. Whether you're renovating your home, studying design, or simply passionate about interiors. Bring a friend and enjoy an evening of good design insights and a wine with us.

Moodboarding
  • The clearer you are about the design direction from the beginning, the easier it will be to choose materials and make bigger decisions down the track.

  • How to narrow down your style, using pinterest and other apps, as well as using your moodboard throughout the whole process - referring back to it is just as important as making it in the first place!

Materiality
  • Materiality is the physical manifestation of your moodboard and is how you create the "feeling" of your home.

  • You’ll discover how to assemble a cohesive design scheme, effectively pair tiles, and understand some colour theory. This will help you confidently create a design that you love and that works seamlessly.

Budgeting
  • We don't need to tell you why it's important - we all know money doesn't grow on trees! But if you can budget appropriately from the get-go, you won't have to scrimp and save on important pieces like furniture and artwork down the track.

  • We will chat about how much of your budget you should allocate to each room, and which percentage of that should be given to each area of the design. This is invaluable knowledge to start with so you don't run out of money by the time it comes to buying furniture or other all-important finishing touches.
